To stay healthy it is ideal to have four servings of vegetables and fruits at every meal. The only solution is to go green and eating organically grown food as far as possible. Organic foods are free from highly toxic pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, antibiotics, flavorings, sweeteners, additives and growth hormones which are commonly used in intensive farming.

Farm Fresh Smoothie

Ingredients

2 peeled, sliced and ripe bananas, ½ cup fresh blueberries, 1 cup yoghurt, ½ cup organic skimmed milk and 1 tablespoon flax seeds

Method

Peel bananas, slice and place on a cookie sheet. Put in a freezer and freeze until it gets solid.

Remove from freezer; add the berries and yoghurt and place in blender. Blender until smooth. Pour into glass and serve.

Soy-Chair Latte

Ingredients

Method

In a teapot or thermos, brew the tea to desired strength, add splashes of warm milk and maple syrup

Pour into mugs and garnish with nutmeg and cinnamon sprinkles

Organic Summer Cooler

Ingredients

1 cup raspberry juice, 4 cups organic orange juice

Method

Pour chilled juices together in a crystal punch bowl

Traditional Mango Lassi

Ingredients

½ cup of diced and ripe mango, 1 cup of ice cubes, pinch of salt, ½ teaspoon fresh lemon juice, 2 tablespoons honey, 1 ½  cups horizon organic plain yoghurt, mint leaves for garnish

Method

In a blender combine mango, ice cubes, salt, lemon juice and honey. Blend on high speed for about one minute until the mango is pureed.

Add yoghurt and blend until thick and creamy for about 45 seconds

Serve it tail glasses garnished with mint
