Keep silk sarees wrapped in a news paper and add some camphor inside to keep them fresh and in good condition. To avoid silver fish, keep some dried red chillies in a corner of your wardrobe.

Place cloves wrapped in a piece of cloth to protect silk zari sarees from insects after washing; naphthalene balls can blacken zari.

For a shiny finish to your silk sarees, try this. Dissolve one packet 10gms of gelatine in one cup of boiling water. Add this to one fourth of a bucket of warm water. Dip the washed silk sarees in this solution and dry in the shade.

Place a small bag of ajwain in your wardrobe to prevent the zari or expensive sarees from turning black.
