This tiny European country is a connoisseur’s delight. Every little town and city is replete with culinary miracles such as waffles. Belgian fries, chocolates, pancakes, mussels and the croque monsieur, a grilled ham-cheese sandwich. Quaint little cafés with terraces beckon you in Brussels, Antwerp and Bruges, where you can sit back and enjoy hot coffee on a cold day or one of the many Belgian beers when it’s warm. Visit a beach town such as Ostend to get a taste of authentic Belgian chocolates. The sea shell chocolates available all across the town are delectable. For more varieties and flavours, go to leonidas or neuhaus, or step into one of the many tiny chocolateries near the grand place in Brussels. There is also a chocolate museum in Brussels and Bruges, where you can learn how to make chocolate. If you enjoy seafood, a beach town is your best bet since it offers a wide range of sea food delicacies at tiny stalls by the beach. The mussels are very popular.

 

A lot of good restaurants can be found in the Quartier de Lilot sacre around the grand place. The Ruedes Bouchers is a popular area that is asid to have restaurants offering all cuisines on one street.

The traditional Belgian waffle. Larger than its international counterparts, the waffle is served with dusted sugar. You can add cream, chocolate sauce or ice cream.
